The Fastest Way To Submit Your Advertising Or Announcements To Forums Without Buying Software
Don’t get me wrong, I love automation software and even write it myself, but there’s a very simple way to submit your ads quickly to forums WITHOUT buying software and WITHOUT missing other advertising opportunities in the forums. Here’s how you do it and I’ll provide a great resource as well…!
What is a Forum?
I hope you’re not that new, but even if you are forums are a great place to both learn and advertise your products and services. A forum is a special type of website which allows users to post questions, answers and advertisements.
Can I Make Money Advertising in Forums?
Yes you can! Both short term, by other posters seeing your advertisements and long term by creating backlinks to your website in both your significant file and your actual announcements
Does That Mean I Need a Website to Post to Forums?
No, you don’t need a website to post to forums, however, if you’re serious about being in business you should have an office where people can walk in and see your products and services. On the internet your office is your website. If you’re planning on making long term money on the internet, you should get an office, I mean website.
What Is A Signature File?
A signature file is text or graphics that appears at the bottom of all your posts. It’s created in your profile (don’t worry you’ll find it) and should contain a short soft sales pitch and link to your site. Don’t get them to buy in the sig file just get the other users and guests to click your link. All forums have different rules about sig files. Since I’m both a marketer and a family man I tend to be pretty lenient with my forums and do my best to help my members feed their families. They, general return the favor if I recommend a product or service.
Okay, I Understand, But It Sounds Time Consuming. What is This Fast Method You Have to Post to Forums?
There are five steps toward preparing to post quickly to forums
1. Prepare your ad copy or announcement
2. Join Forums and set some items up
3. Know how to copy and paste (don’t worry I’ll explain it)
4. Learn the keyboard shortcut for posting
5. List your forums a particular way
1. Prepare Your Ad Copy or Announcement
I won’t go into what advertisements require to be successful That’s for another article or book, but I will discuss the formatting.
Make the subject of your post the first line in your text file. Below that put your sales pitch designed to get your prospect to click on your hyperlink. Place any subscription information you have in there as well. Put your hyperlink at the bottom of your text. Remember to use http:// To make your link active.
2. Join Forums And Set Some Items Up
After you join you’ll usually get an email to activate your membership. When you click the link to do this log yourself in “Forever”. If you have a choice of internet browsers use Firefox. It’s free and gives you the option to remember your username and password. When you log in, set the forum up to log in “forever”. This will save you a lot of time later.
3. Know How to Copy and Paste (Don’t Worry I’ll Explain It)
Create an email or if you know how an html document with hyperlinks.
Now here’s your time saving shortcut:
Find the board in the forum that allows you to place an advertisement.
Left mouse click on New Topic within that board. Sometimes it says New Post.
Click in the address bar on top of your browser
Right mouse click
Left mouse click on Copy
Open your email or web page editor
Left mouse click in the body of your email or html editor
Right mouse click in the body of the email
Do a number of these and send the email to yourself. You now have a list of links in your email which will open a section to post your announcement immediately thus saving you approximately five clicks per post.
4. Learn the Keyboard Shortcut for Posting
If you’re using Internet Explorer Alt s can be used to submit your post. I tried this with Firefox and it didn’t work. You can use your mouse to left mouse click on the Submit button below your advertisement.
5. List your forums a particular way
The preparation work you did in your html editor or email now gives you automatic access to the New Post section of your forums.
Sending Your Advertisement or Announcement As Quickly As Possible
Open your text file announcement and keep it open.
Left mouse click in the body of your advertisement
On your keyboard select Ctrl a This will select all text in your advertisement
On your keyboard select Ctrl c This will copy your advertisement to your clipboard on your personal computer.
Once this is in your clipboard you do not need to redo this procedure unless you copy something to your clipboard. Thus the reason for keeping your advertisement text file open.
Now open your clickable list of forums
Left mouse click on an appropriate forum. It will open to the new post section.
Left mouse click in the Subject line.
On your keyboard press Ctrl v This will copy the clipboard into the subject line. If you set up your ad correctly your subject is the first line of your ad. Your entire subject may not appear to to length limitations. This makes an even better reason for repeating your subject in the body of your post.
On your keyboard press the Tab key until your cursor is in the body of the New Post
On your keyboard press Ctrl v Your entire advertisement will now be in the body of the New Post
If you’re using Internet Explore on your keyboard Alt s will Submit your post. If not left mouse click on Submit or Post depending on the forum.
Your post has now been submitted. You may now close that browser. If you wish to use a shortcut key for this on your keyboard Ctrl w will close a window. You may now repeat the procedure by clicking on another New Post forum link. Remember, you do not need to recopy your add. It’s still in your clipboard.
Conclusion
I began using computers before a mouse was standard. I do find these keyboard shortcuts to be faster and easier on this writer’s carpal tunneled hand. Regardless of whether you prefer mouse or keyboard shortcuts, the setup guidelines will save you a lot of time during submissions of your work.
Internet Forums and Their Use
Forums; commonly referred to as message boards, discussion groups and bulletin boards. They are a web application for holding discussions and posting user generated content. If you need help or advice you can almost guarantee there will be a forum about the specific topic area where you will be able to contribute to the discussion and find out exactly what you need.
Forums are created and used for a number of different reasons. For example most bands and music artists that have a website will more than likely have a forum where fans will be able to discuss the recording artist and interact with other people who share the same interests.
Forums can also be used by businesses as a way of showcasing their expertise in the hope of enticing new customers to their business. In this case the forum is used as a way of marketing; it sells the business and its service to members of the public and people can use forums such as this to find a business service that they need.
Forums are free to use and anyone can use them. There are a few forums still around that require no registration meaning that anyone can just go and post a message on it. However due to problems with spammers taking advantage of the fact these forums don’t require registration, many of the forums that are built today are built so that in order to post you have to register. Registering on a forum merely takes a matter of minutes and by registering with a forum you have the option of choosing your own username and image, known as an avatar. You also get the option of writing your own signature, which appears directly under you post. Within this signature you can post links to sites and include pretty much any information that you want.
Forums are modified by people known as administrators. These administrators are usually people that have something to do with the building of the site or is someone who is employed by the site owner to do this particular job. Administrators modify the posts that are made, they can move, delete, and edit topics. They also have the power to shut the forum down as well as being able to delete, ban and create members. This is effective but also hard work, administrating a forum takes a lot of time, often more than the administrator is given.
Forums, like many places across the Internet, can sadly suffer from spam. Although the introduction of making registration compulsory across many forums has reduced and stopped some of the spam from getting through, spammer’s have created what are known as spambots. These are programmed to be able to fill in a registration form on a forum and are programmed by the spammer to leave messages promoting the spammers service/product. Spambot’s signatures on forums are always more than likely filled with links taking you to explicit or malicious content.
Forums can also suffer from individuals known as trolls. These individuals breach the rules of forums by posting derogatory messages about sensitive topics and often post links to ‘shock sites’ as well as placing images across the forums that other members may find disturbing.
The positive aspects of forum use however greatly outweigh the few negative aspects that we can see through spambots and trolls. Forums are a great resource on the Internet and will continue to be in the future.
